Salam Sejahtera, Greetings!
As the Pro Vice-Chancellor, President and Chief Executive of Curtin Sarawak, I am pleased to welcome you to Curtin University’s largest international campus as well as one of the largest and fastest-growing foreign branch campuses in the world. We were also the first foreign university campus to be established in East Malaysia in 1999 and currently among the top-rated universities in Malaysia under the Malaysian SETARA and D-SETARA rating systems.
We are located in a region of Sarawak famed for its natural wonders, rich cultural heritage and biodiversity, oil and gas industry, and emerging processing and manufacturing industries, and with over 3,500 students from more than 40 countries, we offer students a truly international and cross-cultural learning environment in a unique Malaysian setting.
Inevitably, this adds a rich and valuable dimension to our campus atmosphere and also prepares our graduates to live and work in an increasingly global environment.
We offer a wide range of undergraduate and postgraduate courses in engineering, science, commerce and arts, in addition to courses at pre-university level that feed directly into our undergraduate programmes. As the courses are identical in structure to those offered at the main campus in Perth, students can transfer between campuses without disruption to their studies.
We are also widely recognised for the practical and applied nature of our courses, which equip graduates with essential skills through exposure to industry and business, and as well as our research, which focuses on solving real world problems. This combination enables our graduates to be effective in the workplace immediately upon graduation.
As part of this approach, Curtin Sarawak has always fostered successful partnerships with industry, business and government to enhance the quality of our scholarship, teaching and research. We will continue to develop existing partnerships and to establish new ones in areas relevant to our research and teaching.
Curtin Sarawak is a vibrant international institution with an exciting future and I invite you to join us on our exciting journey forward.
