Curtin Malaysia listed among top three in the world for international study
Posted date:Miri – 9 April 2018 – Curtin University Malaysia (Curtin Malaysia) continues to be highly regarded in international circles, rating top among three universities in the world for international study by Studyinternational.com, a leading global education portal which provides information to students looking to study overseas.
In an article on the portal entitled ‘Universities that balance excellence with an unrivalled student experience’, Curtin Malaysia is described as being in an ideal location in Malaysia surrounded by ‘nature-infused national parks, the world’s largest cave systems and stunning beaches’, as well as a place where students can get a world-class education and international experience with excellent student support services.
The other two universities in the portal’s pick were California State University in the United States and the University of Otago in New Zealand.
Curtin Malaysia Pro Vice-Chancellor, President and Chief Executive Professor Jim Mienczakowski said it was very pleasing to see Curtin Malaysia being recognised as the best in the world, and for the second time by Studyinternational.com.
Curtin Malaysia was among the portal’s top four picks of universities globally that provide ‘education in jaw-dropping locations’ last September.
Professor Mienczakowski said, “As Curtin University’s largest international campus and global hub in Asia, we’re already up there in the global ranks. Curtin is recognised as being a global university ranked in the top one percent of universities worldwide in the Academic Ranking of World Universities. In Malaysia, we are also a top-ranked university in the SETARA and D-SETARA rating systems.”
He added that Curtin Malaysia is proud to offer a world-class education and Curtin qualifications that are recognised across the world. It also offers a global experience that comes hand-in-hand with international study, located in exotic Borneo with a myriad of opportunities for adventure and cultural immersion, and a truly international student community drawn from over 50 countries.
“Borneo is ideal for international students with a bit of wanderlust. Not only will studying with us fulfill their wanderlust needs by deepening their appreciation for a new country and culture, but they also become richer in knowledge and interpersonal expertise that will benefit them for a lifetime,” Professor Mienczakowski remarked.
Curtin Malaysia offers a wide range of undergraduate and postgraduate courses in engineering, science, business and humanities, as well foundation programmes that feed directly into its undergraduate programmes. The courses are identical to those at its parent campus in Perth, Western Australia, and undergraduate students have the option to transfer there at any time to complete their degrees and add yet another dimension to their international experience.
Furthermore, most of the courses are accredited by professional bodies nationally and internationally, including Engineers Australia and the Engineering Accreditation Council of Malaysia for its engineering courses, and the Association for the Advancement of Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB) and other international bodies for its business offerings.
Curtin Malaysia’s strong links with industry, business and the broader community enhance the learning process and present opportunities for work-integrated learning, collaborative research and industry engagement.
Based in Bristol, Sydney and Kuala Lumpur, Studyinternational.com provides free, independent help and advice that connects students with a global network of universities. Students can use its powerful search engine to find universities and courses all over the world, read up on the latest international student news, and contact its international student officers about anything relating to international education.
